Irish Cultural Society

of San Antonio Texas

November's meeting was called to order at 3:11pm by
President Lou Kelley. He led us in the Pledge of
Allegiance and that was followed by the invocation
by Sister Carmel. Minutes of the previous meeting
were read and approved as read. We sang "God Bless
America" in honor of Veteran's Day.
The treasurer's report showed a balance of $6,758
as of 11/1/12. The ICS took in $325 in dues in the
last few months. Kay, our membership chair,
reiterated that for those of you who have not done
so yet, it is past time to turn in your membership
dues. Also, anyone willing to be a caller for the
ICS, please let her know. The more callers we have,
the shorter everyone's call list will be. This is
especially important if something of import occurs
between newsletters. Lou can send out an e-mail
blast to those of us who have given him our e-mail
address, but those who haven't done so are
dependent on getting information from the people
who are part of the telephone tree. There were
32 members and 1 guest in attendance today.
Helena, the plans and programs chair, had a printed
sheet for us today with a rundown on activities
coming up in the next few months. A venue has not
yet been decided upon for our March dance, nor has
a band been chosen. Lou says the dance floor at
the Braun Dance Hall is really excellent. He
states that you can dance all evening and your
feet won't hurt. A group of us will check out
that place within the next week or so.
Lou announced that Tom and Rita Ryan have recently
moved to Virginia.
Celtic Thunder will be performing tomorrow night at
the Majestic Theater.
John Donnellan brought up the topic of expanding the
scholarship area to include places outside San
Antonio proper. A committee including John, Jane,
Henry, Joan, and Barbara will get together before
our next meeting in January to discuss this topic
and will report back to us on January 13th.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:00pm for refreshments,
followed by today's program.

Respectfully submitted,

Susan S. Feeley,
