Membership: Maureen McConnell (new Member)
Plans/Programs: Susan explained today’s program “Seniors 
Helping Seniors” pending Helena’s arrival.
Irish Heritage Day: Susan Feeley
IHD will be held on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, 12pm-5pm at the 
Leon Valley Community Center.

	Jim and Maggie Fox (singers,musicians)
	Sessions (Irish Music)
	St. Gregory  Irish Dancers
	Jane McDaniel (story telling)
	Sue Brannin (bagpipes) and Black Bexar Pipers

Publicity: Helena Ryan has been busy with getting publicity 
for IHD:

Members are asked to print flyers and hand out or post in 
libraries, restaurants, etc. 

Library: Susan will send Lou the parts that she has logged 
already (fiction,cds,dvds) and she will continue to work 
on logging the rest of the items into the system. Please 
contact her if you are interested in a particular topic or 

Social Committee: Ethna needs help with donations of Irish 
soda bread and cookies for the IHD

Members at Large: No report

Scholarship: Barbara Pierce, SAISD, NISD, NEISD have been 
contacted with information to solicit essays for the 
$1,000 scholarship
  Suggestion made by Joan Moody to include Catholic High 
Schools in notification of scholarship opportunity. Barbara 
will follow up with this ASAP.

Old Business: Lou Kelly
ICS Dance at Braun Hall ,Saturday, March 29, 2014 ,7-11 PM,
Lou will confirm and book the venue.

Irish Festival with Harp and Shamrock Society on Saturday, 
March 8, 2014 on grounds of the Incarnate Word University.

ICS will have an information booth:
10x10 space. Set up at 9AM. Festival opens 12 PM-11 PM

Barbara and Susan will set up and man the info table for a 
few hours. 

New Business:
1)Kay Delaney shared information about the Late Night 
Catechism performance at McCombs Theater. She will follow 
up with information after she contacts them.
2)GAA presentation: Kevin McMannus and a GAA player
Shared origin and purpose of GAA club in SA
Looking for a sponsor of the new uniforms (kit) and asking 
ICS to sponsor a space on the back for the next 3 years.
There would be  the ICS logo on the back above the number, 
size: about 3“ x 5” for $1,000 donation to the GAA.
Lou asked for a motion:
“ICS will sponsor the SAGAA for $1,000 in exchange for our
logo to be prominently displayed on the back of the kit for 
a minimum of 3 years.”
John Donnelyn made the motion, 
It was Seconded by Maureen McCann,
ICS members voted and the motion unanimously carried. 
Lou will contact Bob Barron to cut a check to the GAA and 
will provide the logo to Kevin ASAP so the uniforms will be 
ready for the Irish Fest on Feb. 8.

Motion made by Susan Feeley to adjourn the meeting.
